 Online teaching practice : Phase 1

               Teaching practice is an integral part of B. Ed  curriculum. Due to covid 19 pandemic the whole class were through the online media. Hence our teaching practice was also conducted through online platform google meet.

I took the students of 8th standard from PSVPMHSS, Ayravon. The class time was from 7 to 8 pm.

It was a different experience to take classes through online mode. Eventhough it was difficult to take a class in online mode, students actively participated in the class. The students also clarified their doubts through the whatsapp group.

I conducted the diagonostic test on 25-11-2020 through google form and identified the difficult areas. Based on it, i adopted different teaching strategies to convey the topic clearly. On 30th November, I conducted an achievement test to know what they had achieved.

Digital textbook

            

              As part of two year B. Ed curriculum, I prepared a digital textbook. It was based on the chapter "Area " from 9th standard.

Money Maths (Animation videos)

         An animated video is prepared as part of teaching practice. The video deals with difference between the simple and compound interest.

        An e content is prepared based on the chapter Solids, topic "surface area of a cone"

Innovative work

   During the peer teaching practice session, in order to convey the concept " All triangles with same base and the third vertex on a line parallel to the base have the same area", I used a working model as follows:

This model calculated the areas of different triangles based on the codition and proved it practically.

It was very useful for the students that they understood the concept clearly.

Peer teaching is a method of teaching, where a student instructs another student.

The first phase of peer teaching classes started from 18 November 2020 to 21 November 2020.

These classes gave us a very good experiences. All peers were so supportive and made us more interested towards teaching. Some of the benefits are;

1. Peer teaching improves attitudes towards     teaching.

2.  Peer teachers reinforce their own learning by instructing others.

3. Students feel more comfortable and open while interacting with a peer.

          For peer teaching, i have selected plus one topic " Sequences and Series".

CIENCIAS 2020 - International Science Day Celebration

       Celebrated every 10 November, World Science day for peace and development highlights the significant role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public indebates on emerging scientific issues. It underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives.

The role of science in our everyday life becomes increasingly important in this context of the covid 19 outbreak.

On this situation,our college also celebrated world science day in an online platform.

The inagural address was given by Mr. Yadu Krishna S, Research Assistant and PHD, Research Scholar i  Physics, University of Tennessee Knoxville, US. His jnagural address make all of us so inspired by explaining his personal experiencesand importance of development of science.

The key note address was given by Dr. Sajan, Assistant professor, NSS training college, Ottappalam. He talked about augmented reality and made us familiar with some augmented reality applications which can be used in the virtual classroom.

Our online competitions started at 3.00 pm. The competitions like Scientist inside, online qiz etc were conducted as scheduled.

Edu 301.3, ആർട്ട്‌ & എസ്തറ്റിക് എഡ്യൂക്കേഷന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഒരു വർക്ഷോപ് നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. ഡോ. ഭുവനചന്ദ്രൻ നായർ സർ ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ എടുത്തു. അദ്ദേഹം കവി, എഴുത്തുകാരൻ,വാഗ്മി,നാടക ഗവേഷകൻ എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ പ്രശസ്തനാണ്. 1995ൽ  ലിറ്ററെച്ചർ ലും തീയേറ്റർ ആർട്സിലും phD കരസ്തമാക്കി. "ഋതുമൊഴി " ഉൾപ്പെടെ ധാരാളം പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവ്. ഏറ്റവും നല്ല ഗാനരചയിതാവിനുള്ള 2010 ലെ പ്രത്യേക ജൂറി പുരസ്‌കാരം ഉൾപ്പെടെ ധാരാളം പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അധ്യാപനത്തിൽ സംഗീതത്തെ എങ്ങനെ ഫലപ്രദമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കാം എന്നും ഹൈസ്കൂൾ വിഭാഗത്തിലെ ഒരു പാഠഭാഗം സംഗീതരൂപേണേ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതും ആയിരുന്നു ഈ പ്രോഗ്രാമിന്റെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യം.രാവിലെ 9.30 ക്കു തുടങ്ങിയ ക്ലാസ്സിന്റെ ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ ഭുവനചന്ദ്രൻ സർ വിവിധ തരത്തിലുള്ള സംഗീതത്തെ കുറിച്ചും അതിന്റെ താളം,സംഗതിയെ കുറിച്ചും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ധാരാളം അനുഭവങ്ങളും കുട്ടികളുമായി പങ്കുവെച്ചു.ഉച്ചക്ക് ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം കുട്ടികളെ പല ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളായി തിരിച്ചു. ഓരോ ഗ്രൂപ്പും അവരവർക്കു സംഗീതത്തിലൂടെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന പാഠഭാഗങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു ഗാനം എഴുതി ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

                        ഞാൻ 5മത്തെ ഗ്രൂപ്പിലായിരുന്നു.എന്റെ ഗ്രൂപ്പിൽ ഉള്ള മറ്റു കുട്ടികൾ ദേവാനന്ദ്,അൻസു,ലിജി,ജ്യോതിസ് എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു.9ലെ ഘനരൂപങ്ങൾ എന്ന പാഠഭാഗം ആയിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്.ഈ വിഷയവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു തുള്ളൽ പാട്ടു എഴുതുകയും അതു അവതരിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

വളരെ നല്ല ഒരു അനുഭവമായിരുന്നു ഈ വർക്ഷോപ്.എല്ലാവരും നന്നായി ആസ്വദിച്ചു.

കേരളപിറവി

 കേരള സംസ്ഥാനം രൂപീകൃതമായതിന്റെ ഓർമയ്ക്കാണ് മലയാളികൾ കേരളപിറവി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. വൈവിധ്യമായ ഭൂപ്രക്രിതിയാൽ സമ്പന്നമായ കേരളക്കരയ്ക്ക് ഇന്ന് 64ആം പിറന്നാൾ.

കേരള പൈതൃകം എന്ന പേരിൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കോളേജ് ഈ വർഷം കേരളപിറവി ആഘോഷിച്ചു. പന്തളം എൻ. എസ്. എസ് കോളേജിലെ മലയാള വിഭാഗം അധ്യാപകൻ മുഖ്യഥിതി ആയി പങ്കെടുത്ത ചടങ്ങിൽ എല്ലാ വിദ്യാർഥികളും ഗൂഗിൾ മീറ്റിലൂടെ ഭാഗവാക്കായി.
